10th – 21st January

Lionel Horsnell was a well-known Hertford artist for many years, often seen cycling around the town and neighbouring villages, toting his paints and easel, or working outdoors capturing local streets and landscapes. This retrospective exhibition of local scenes and those from his wider travels is a tribute to his life and work.

New Material: A Student Collaboration - Various Artists

24th January – 4th February

This is a group exhibition which brings together four emerging artists currently studying Fine Art at the University of Hertfordshire. The exhibition, entitled New Material aims to showcase new artworks in a range of different mediums from photography to installation. The exhibitors hope that this will stimulate new ideas and discussions within contemporary art.

Chinese Whispers - Jenny Alderson, Judith Coxell, Marian Hall, Sue Hickman, Debbie Lewis Brindley and Jan Simpson

7th – 18th February

Drawing on the children’s game of Chinese Whispers, this exhibition shows what happened when six artists each created a textile ‘whisper’, passing it to the next member of the group to use as inspiration for another textile, which the recipient, in turn passed to the next member. Six beginnings, a journey through thirty six textiles, six surprising endings.
