English Women Artists from the 17th to the 21st Century
with Ann-Marie Parker
Friday 23rd June 2017, Courtyard Arts Centre
The Royal Academy was founded in 1768 with 34 members, of whom only two were women. It took another 186 years for a third woman Academician to be appointed! It seems that women artists were smudged out of art history.
This illustrated talk is an attempt to redress the imbalance and to show just how talented women were in the art world.
A most informative and enjoyable evening is promised, with proceeds raised going towards fundraising for Courtyard Arts Centre. We hope you can join us!
Friday 23rd June 2017 – 7.30 pm
Tickets £12, inc. interval refreshment
This event is now fully booked.
Ann-Marie Parker retired 25 years ago as the Deputy County Librarian of Hertfordshire. Sadly she has no artistic ability whatsoever, but has a passion for art and art history which she loves to share.
