Ruth is a self-taught artist working in a range of mediums. This exhibition highlights her delight in pastel media. Since her first drawing in basic coloured chalks at primary school she has been fascinated by the rich medium of pastel.

In later life (now retired) Ruth has embraced the opportunity to develop her passion for pastel in all its formats – pastel sticks for a vast colour range, pastel pencils for subtlety and precision, oil pastels for their creamy consistency.

Ruth prefers natural subjects such as landscapes, gardens, flowers and animals.
