‘PAINTING WHAT I SEE’ – ANGELA ROBERTS

Stables Gallery

Angela Roberts is gaining increasing recognition as an accomplished painter in oils. Her plein air painting technique shows a subtle understanding of light and tonality which has led to numerous commissions and gallery exhibitions both locally in her beloved Hertford, London and further afield. Her pursuit in the capture of light reflected especially from water, has become an integral part of her loose and captivating style.
Angela Roberts has forever been a creative soul, but only turned her hand to painting, some six years ago. Her creative skills were formerly evidenced in rag doll making. These were sold internationally and were in much demand domestically at Liberty’s and Harrods. Angela’s business career flourished in Hertford where she and her late husband Roy ran Wiggintons selling furniture, gifts and toys. Following his passing in 2006, Angela set about winding up the businesses and considered her future.
It was some time later that she attended her first art class in Tenerife where she and Roy had shared a holiday home. From the first lesson she was hooked and has pursued her new career earnestly ever since. She is the first to admit that her new found passion for painting in oils has become a key part of her life. Over the last six years, her innate talents have garnered a huge number of followers and led to numerous commissions. She lives and paints in Hertford and exhibits across the UK.
