About the Quartet
The Courtyard Quartet first came together at the end of 2011 as an ad hoc group for a Christmas celebration for the Courtyard Arts Centre in Hertford. That concert was so well received, and the quartet so enjoyed working together, that they decided to continue to perform by invitation at other functions, events and concerts, both at Courtyard Arts and elsewhere.
As well as many return visits to the Courtyard Arts Centre, including a CD launch concert, they have performed at Hertford Music Club; Hoddesdon Music Club; Hertford Theatre; several times at the lunchtime ‘Soundbites’ concert series at Hertford’s All Saints’ Church; at a charity banquet given by the Mayor of Hertford; at the Maldon Festival of Arts; at London’s Bow Creek Cafe and at a number of private functions.
They have been privileged to sing from the minstrels’ gallery in the Marble Hall, Hatfield House, in the presence of the Marquess of Salisbury and other distinguished guests. They have performed innovative concerts featuring a local history slideshow; the well-received ‘Sacred River’ concert for Hertford Soundbites and ‘Juke box’ concerts in Birchanger and Hertford as well as the ‘Nostalgia’ concert for the Standon Midweek concert series, and Hertford Soundbites, and ‘Classical Elements’ Concert for the Khandel Light Charity at Barley.
Individual members of the quartet also sing in other vocal ensembles and choirs including Coro London Chamber Choir; The Joyful Company of Singers; and the Royston Priory Singers.
The group is available for private engagements as well as for local societies and charities. Keep up to date with the Courtyard Quartet on their Facebook page:
