Rosie Wyllie and Rosa Hewitt
10th July – 27th July 2018, Courtyard Arts Gallery
A dialogue between two artists’ practices. Rosa Hewitt’s work spans film, performance, drawing, printmaking and photography. Recently, she has been making cyanotypes, exploring the relationship between process and emotion. Rosie Wyllie has made a series of works on paper, which explore the process of representation. By layering coloured inks over arrangements of repeated hand-cut stencils, she transforms the surface of the paper, producing kaleidoscopic images.
The title,With Hidden Noise, is taken from a work by Marcel Duchamp. It resonated with both artists when thinking about the common themes in their creative processes.
