Description
Friday 24th July
9:30 – 12:30
Taking our initial inspiration from the Fauve artist of the early twentieth century, Andre Derain, we will take a journey through the vibrant and intense colours of acrylic paint.
Using landscape as our focus we will leave the world behind and enjoy creating energised and vibrant paintings in experimental colours and brave mark making with overpainting.
The starting point can be either from the images included in the brief or from photographs of landscapes that you like and have an affiliation to. Compositional analysis, paint experimentation, and use of the studio space will be considered including tables, table easels and full easels. Light and shade should be focused on when choosing photographs as this element forms an important part in the use of translating photos into acrylic paintings.
Please bring along either your phone, tablet or iPad in order to explore the images included in the brief in more detail.
