A bumper crop of artists from across the region and beyond submitted their work for this year’s Courtyard Open exhibition, our 14th annual event which ran to 27th April.

Of these, 116 works from 77 artists were selected for inclusion by our panel of judges, who also had the difficult job of choosing their commended works and ‘Best in Show’.

At a launch event on 9th April, ‘Silent Blue’ by Gillian Mackenna was awarded the Best in Show prize of £200. The judges chose the following Commended Works:

  • Karin Friedli – ‘Frosty Morning’
  • Judith Moule – ‘Landmarks’
  • Dave Nelson – ‘Winter Song’
  • Flea Cooke – ‘Celestial’
  • Cathy Gales – ‘Bright Future’
  • Nikki Roberson – ‘Curved Structure Series 1’
